MSI Kallum Loose Lay LVT

We tested over a dozen loose lay LVT products before standardizing on the MSI Kallum line. The combination of plank weight (approximately 15 lbs per plank in the 9×60 format), SPC core rigidity, and integrated IXPE acoustic backing makes it the most reliable loose lay product we have installed in commercial environments.

In hotel corridors handling daily luggage cart traffic exceeding 200 lbs, the Kallum has shown zero edge lifting or plank migration after 18+ months of service. The 20-mil wear layer with polyurethane topcoat resists the scuffing and micro-scratching that makes lesser products look worn within the first year.

The loose lay format is the core operational advantage. No adhesive means no cure time, no fumes, no VOC off-gassing during installation. Facilities can be occupied during installation, and foot traffic can resume immediately after planks are placed. When a plank sustains damage, it lifts out and a replacement drops in—without touching surrounding sections, without specialized tools, without waiting.
